REVIEW:
A man writing proper romance – A bit surprising isn’t it? To say that the book turned out be pleasant read is an understatement.

A typical misunderstanding between lovers ends up blowing out of proportions. Adding to the misery are people who exploit this situation for their ulterior motives. The protagonist, Guy, the handsome French Adonis, lands on the night of our heroine, Eve’s art exhibit after 7 years. He invites her out for dinner which Eve ends up accepting against her better judgement.  Thus begins their roller coaster journey of emotions. What follows is story of how two people actually find each other.

Initially, I found the story a bit disorienting. The story didn’t have much to go on at one point. That changed with a bang. The fluid writing was quite instrumental in convincing me to read the book further. The cover was slightly misleading and I was dreading erotically steamy scenes that would probably wrench my gut. I was pleasantly surprised for the writer did no such thing! The chemistry between Eve and guy was crackling yet didn’t seem erotic at all. The characterization was spot on with enough focus to all the characters. The writer did a great job of not putting in the regular cliches characteristic of a romance. The unwavering focus of the writer on the protagonist’s characterization and emotions resulted in a story that was pleasant to read after the initial hiccup. The story was all about Eve and Guy, in spite of other characters who held that potential to grab limelight. Oh and I could visualize all the characters physically (and I totally loved it :-P. Oliver, is there a real life “Guy” around? If so I’m looking for him :-P) .The other thing that I loved about the story was its layering. The characters were all introduced gradually and the premise was perfectly layered. Once the story picked up momentum, there was no looking back. In short, the story was one perfectly packaged read that did immense justice to the genre of romance.

I know it’s wrong to stereotype, but I really can’t help but be in awe with the writer, Oliver, who smoothly proved that men are indeed capable of writing romance which can make women swoon.

MY SAY: Romance unadulterated! A must read for people who love this genre of books.

  2. I very leisurely read the entire story. The language and flow is so good. I pictured Guy as Orlando Bloom or much better would be Matt Bomer http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0093589
