REVIEW:
Christmas season is that time of year that associated with magical romance. Of course, I have no clue if this ideology is actually true or if it stemmed out a romance writer’s powerful imagination. Christmas miracle seems to a predominant theme of this book as well going by the blurb and the title.

Our protagonist, Jacob aka Jake is an undercover cop who is hiding in a small town as a deputy sheriff to protect himself from a threat. His family is also uprooted and placed in the witness protection program after his last assignment went all wrong. He falls for the quick and witty bartender heather who has her own baggage of secrets. What harm possibly could happen of falling in love? A Christmas miracle is actually what was needed to answer that question!

The story turned out to be a typical Christmas romance with the common clich├ęs of a love-hate relationship. Needless to mention that the story had a positive climax, it’s a Christmas themed story, what else can one possibly expect. Not that I’m complaining, the book provided a much needed lift in my spirits after the tragedy that unfolded in my city. The writing was fresh and crisp and filled with all the right emotions. I felt Jacob’s character had more depth and dimension when compared to Heather’s character. Jacob’s flashback as an undercover cop and his struggle was very moving when compared to Heather’s flashback. Her past seemed a tad bit limp and devoid of the extreme emotion it should have actually conveyed. Apart from that only peeve point, I could feel the magical spirit of Christmas from the book which turned out to be a good mood lifter for me!

MY SAY:  An apt read for the season. An out and out mood lifter!
