REVIEW:

Electrifying adventure filled with atomic explosions, Psionic guns, and hideous Draconian monsters – that just sums up this book. It looked like the writer finally decided to step on that pace pedal and dive right into the plot line with this book. While the first two books focused more on the characters individually this book, the third in the series, focuses more on the actual plot  where in the leadership of Mars plans to capture Earth to obtain their source of milk.

In this edition, Aoleon and Gilbert are capture by hideous looking shape shifting creatures called Draconians who claim to be a superior race and were supposedly worshipped by humans. Bizwat, the super cool Procyon commander and Aoleon’s friends lands in the nick of the time to save Gilbert and Aoleon. Before being captured, Aoleon and Gilbert almost thwart an attempt by Luminon to destroy the Galact factory.

The writer deserves to be lauded for the detailed account of actions sequences which made this book in the series an interesting and fast paced read. The illustrations, just like from the previous book were vivid and were a visual treat. The bright and rich colors used simply kept me mesmerized. In fact, those illustrations made a wailing little girl laugh. I was reading this book during my daily travel from office. A little girl sitting on her mother’s lap next to me was bawling and pouring buckets of tears. I had paused reading the book at a page containing an illustration (The one with Aoleon and Gilbert flying on surfboard) to look at her and try to comfort her. She peeped and looked at the illustration. Her wailing turned into laughter within minutes. Her mom looked much relieved and enquired what this picture was. Just that I couldn’t proceed reading any further and had to keep that page on for her to continue admiring it!

My only qualm with the book would be Pax’s characterization and role in the story. He really expects kids to solve complicated issues while just giving random clues. That’s just annoying!
